Condensed Phase Flame Retardant: Decomposes at high temperatures to release non-flammable gases (such as NH₃ and CO₂), diluting oxygen concentration while promoting the formation of a dense carbon layer on the material surface, insulating heat transfer.
Low Smoke and Non-Toxic: Compared to halogenated flame retardants, its decomposition products do not produce toxic gases such as hydrogen halides, meeting environmental standards.
High thermal stability (boiling point 466.3°C) and excellent water solubility make it suitable for water-based flame-retardant coatings or impregnation processes.
Combined with halloysite nanotubes, carbon nanotubes, and other materials, it can improve the thermal stability of substrates.
Applications:
Cellulose Materials: Used for flame retardant treatment of wallpaper, carpets, and curtains, increasing the LOI (Limiting Oxygen Index) to over 26%.
Wood and Furniture: Used as an impregnant or coating to slow combustion and reduce dripping.
Polymer Composites: Blending with materials such as polypropylene requires surface modification to improve dispersibility. |
